Water Pump Impellor, CHANGE IT IN YOUR BOAT NOW BEFORE ITS TO LATE!

Water Pump?

Your water pump impellor has a life span of about 3-5 years and should be done as a part

of your maintenance on the boat.

ALSO when you first purchase a boat you should do this first thing before running around a lot.

This is the life blood of your engine, make sure it operates correctly. The water pump

impeller is made of neoprene, this will become brittle over time, your result will be

breakage. If your water pump fails to pump water, then, well your hosed! Don't let it be

you, don't risk your motors, it's an expensive fix if you blow your motor, so just get your

water pump done today! That way you wont waste your boating time, trying to get

the motor replaced, or rebuilt... Once the water pump is done write down the year it was

done then you know, and in three years you should get it done again.

Go to rmmarine.com.  For coupon when coupon expires I will remove it from site.  So while you have savings get in and get that water impellor done!   rmmarine.com

Nissan Outboard

Tohatsu and Nissan outboards have protection from salt water and fresh water use.  They are used by commercial boats across the world.   Fisherman believe in the durability and longevity of the Nissan/Tohatsu line.

Friday, February 1, 2013

Take care of your boat, here is how!

Do not:

· Count on a heater and go without winterizing your boat

· Take your boat to a guy you found in a ad with no credentials or business

· Do not wait till first freeze to get boat winterized

· Leave your boat exposed to the rain

· Close boat up and not open it from time to time to vent (With Dry-Z-Air in boat only needed about monthly)

· Store your boat with less than full tank of gas

· Leave towels, jackets, or anything that can hold moisture in the boat

Things to do:

· Make sure boat tank is filled but not topped off!

· Be sure to Get your boat Winterized

· Charge battery

· Put drive down

· Un plug your battery take battery inside

· Open all compartments in boat (glove box, bow seats, cuddy seats, gap engine compartment).

· Remove all items from boat including life jackets that keep moisture in them.

· Put Dry-Z-Air in bow and towards stern check monthly if not more.

· Cover boat with canvas

· If you need tent pole they are for available to order, or make them with a 2x4 middle adjusted to height so cover is tented, nail plywood square at bottom and Frisbee nailed at top.

· Then place a tarp on top of whole boat and snug down with bungee's

· Remember snow is heavy and will break down your canvas, clean off snow, each time it snows.

· Winter is the time to save on large projects, go to the coupon page for big savings.

· If you have a Buff-N-Wax done in the winter, then be sure to take advantage of our $50. Once around in the spring.

· In spring call for our Drive in - Drive out de-winterize!

What is nice about doing these winter task is, when spring cleaning gets here your boat should be in fairly good order. But then there is a lot of inspecting, checking and conditioning needed so keep a eye out for Spring to do’s!

Protect your boat! WINTER BOATING

Winter And boating!

Using your boat in the winter:

Be sure to dress warm, bring survival gear and extra blankets. Also you may add a couple pieces of dry kindling in a bag, or make fire starters out of egg carton, candle wax, and dryer lint. Also make sure you have spare prop, spare water separating fuel filter and belts.

Inboard/Outboard Motors will need to be drained each time you return as well as filling up your gas tank. Be sure to drain Block, Heat exchanger, Water pump, Manifolds and Risers.

Outboards, are self draining yet can still freeze in the Raw Water Pump.

Be sure to fill out a float plan when ever you use your boat in the winter time. Float plan is a piece of paper, listing out who is on your boat, your boat type, and the location you are boating in.

Damage that May happen in the winter freeze:

Water starts to freeze at about temperatures of 32 degrees. If you have any cracks on your deck that water can seep into damage can start to happen, once water is soaked inside the crack, it then expands first then becomes denser, thus opening the crack and causing more damage.

If you have forgotten to drain; Block, Heat exchanger, Water pump, Manifolds and Risers, damage may occur.

Lower units can freeze in the winter, though rare! You can avoid this by angling lower unit in the fully downward position.

Your belts may become brittle during the cold, be sure to keep a spare.

Be aware that mud daubers (wasp) that may infest your outboard boat, clogging up lines. Avoid this by setting off bug bombs around the boat storage area.

If you wake to find ice has formed on top of your Vinyl do not attempt to pull it off, it is best to let it melt and dry it up, rather then pull on vinyl made brittle by freezing temperatures.

Snow is heavy and will break down your canvas, sweep off snow each time.

Make sure you have Replacement Value insurance on your boat at all times.
